How to get there:
This mountain is located in the Sveio municipality, along E-39 south of Bergen.
You may park before arriving at the last house, or possibly drive past the last
house to a small parking are. In any event, ask about parking if there are people
present at the last (red) house.
This is at location N59.62196, E5.48245, elevation around 44 meter.
Route:
Follow the small road passing the red house on its left side. You will soon arrive
at the end of the road, a weak tractor track continues along the left side of
a meadow. This track will join another track coming from your right, it will
climb uphill to your left. Follow this track until a flat area where the forest
track turns left. Continue more right and climb the ridge, there is no trail, but
smaller animal tracks here and there. When reaching the top, continue almost
flat until you arrive at the summit cairn. Comments:
I did this hike with my friend Kjell. Quite a nice, but short walk got us to
the summit around 1250. Good views and
a nice summit area. We returned to the car, planning to next visit
Lierfjellet.
