Information:

How to get there:
Starting from Voss, drive through the center of Voss (in the direction of Granvin). Cross the bridge and then turn right followed by forking left. The sign should read "Rong 15". Measure from here. Drive 15.4 kilometer to Rong, proceed straight, then slightly left to locate a self-serve mountain toll road. The sign says (2017) NOK 30 to be left in a metal box.
This road is well maintained and fine for ordinary cars. Continue passed the small lake Furevatnet (616m), then turn right after a few hundred meter, at Øyaset. Park off the road on the left, at location N60.51085, E006.52900, elevation about 619 meter.
Route description:
See my description of Herdabreia. There are many variations, but one should be aware of a long cliff band that blocks access with ony a few easy passages, study your map carefully. See the previous description and the comments below. There are several false summit points, some have a cairn. The highest point has a rather small cairn.
Comments:
Having visited Herdabreia, we hiked along the crest towards Grim. his hike, that seemed rather easy at first look, required more time than thought. There are ups and downs, we then subsequently scrambled up onto the peak that appeared to be right, only to find that the summit was one step further along.
On the way there, we spotted a single lamb right at the water divide. We called again, but the farmer seemed even less interested to hear about this one. A bit discouraging, as we were doing our best looking for missing sheep and now having found 5.
We finally arrived on top at 1600, the weather was still quite nice.
After 15 minutes, it was time to return. We more or less followed a straight line heading, however, again we needed to search in order to find a way down the cliff band. Most likely, the best route in order to gain the main crest, is somewhere closer to the creek and thus approaching the area closer to the main col separating Grim from Herdabreia.
We reached tha car at 1730 after quite an enjoyable hike in quite rugged terrain. Thanks to Rob for good company!
