Installing the needed software
The steps
Install
Cygwin
:
Install default packages and the following
binary
packages:
make in Devel
tetex-base in Text
texmf-base in Text
texmf-extra in Text
ghostscript in Graphics
rxvt in Shells (not required but recommended!)
Download
EasyThesis
and unzip it into your home directory. (Hint: type
cygpath -w `echo $HOME`
in the Cygwin window to find out your home directory.)
Try
generating
the default document to validate the installation.
Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible solution
Cygwin won't install.
You need to be online when using the
setup.exe
program.
Windows don't know what to do with the
easythesis.zip
file.
Install WinZip or similar programs.
