How to get there:
This mountain is on the island Tysnes. Easy to reach by ferry from Halhjem, south of
Bergen. The ferry should go to Våge. From Våge, drive south about 3.8 kilometer,
turn left towards Dalen. There is a wider section of the road signed as Dalen Parking, park here,
location N60.016000, E005.544038, elevaation about 150 meter.
Route:
Continue along the road and pass the last farm. The road changes to a farmers (tractor) road,
Keep left at forks. You will soon see signs saying Ilefjellet, the route is well marked. Eventually,
the tractor road changes into a trail. This is still well marked with signs at forks. Follow this
all the way to the summit. Comments:
I started walking at 0930, after an early ferry from Bergen/Os. I arrived at the flat and grassy summit
plateau after 45 minutes. After a 10 minute break for some drink and photos, I started descending. However,
my route would cross to my next mountain of the day, Singelstadfjellet,
rather than returning to the trailhead.
