Information:

How to get there:

You need to locate the Kotmale Reservoir. A road runs on its north side. The turnoff to start driving uphill to the trailhead is located at N7.063996, E080.601420. Drive quite a long way uphill on a narrow, but pretty good road. Stop before the road ends, at location N07.08428, E080.62725, elevation near 1380 meter. A trails starts directly uphill from the road near this location. This is the trailhead.
Route description:
From the trailhead (where the road sort of ends), take the trail that runs directly uphill. Follow this until you reach the fenced in antennas. The trail turns right and follows the fence a short distance, then climbs to the highest point, well above the antenna level. The highest point are some rocks near the cliff and also next to a smaller antenna/mast right there. (No fence.)
Comments / Trip report:
I had just visited Pidurutalagala, the Sri Lanka HP, and observed that the nice looking mountain that I had seen when driving up the valley, actually could be visited on our drive back down.
We had no difficulties driving to the trailhead. I left, while my driver stayed with the car. It was a short and easy hike. The trail ascends through a nice pine forest. About 15 minutes to the summit, 5 minutes there and a 10 minute descent. The view east is very nice.
