Information:

How to get there: The nearest village is Eriste, which lies a few miles south of Benasque. Eriste is some hours drive from for example Toulouse or Barcelona.
Route description: From Eriste you take a small, winding dirt road up the steep western hillside, and drive in a narrow, steep-walled gorge where the road in places looks very dangerous. The trail leads up the beautiful valley for about 1 1/2 kilometers, passing among other things a very scenic waterfall, before turning left and climbing steeply for about one kilometer to the Refugio Angel Orús (2095m), a good place to spend the night.
From the refugio, you follow a trail along the hillside above the hut, until it enters a broad basin. Follow a trail which heads up to the right, and enters a narrow gorge which has a large snowfield in it. When the gorge broadens, follow another snowfield up to a pass around 3000 meters, with an impressive rock spire on the left, and climb right on the snowfields towards the ridgetop above. The summit ridge is narrow, but non-technical and quite easy.
Comments: This is a very nice hike. We did it after a large (for the season) snowfall had made it virtually impossible to climb Aneto, our primary target. The people in charge of Refugio Angel Orús were very friendly and made our stay there a long lasting memory.
