Lassen Peak

  • Lassen Peak
  • 3187 m
  • Primary factor 1596 m
  • California
  • Climbed July 1997.

Information:

How to get there: From the main road going through Lassen National Park in north-east California.
Route description: There is well marked trail to the top.
Comments: The view is nice on a clear day. One can see Shasta as well as the lower elevation stretching towards south. That Lassen is a volcano is clear, one easily sees the contours of the crater from the summit. I like the story about the summit hut. It was finally put up in 1913 only to be completely destroyed by Lassen's eruption the following couple of years.
