How to get there:
This mountain is located north of Boulder Canyon (also north
of Sunshine Canyon), facing the city
to the east. Route description:
There is a nice trail starting from the parking area at the
bottom of Sunshine Canyon. One trail climbs very gently, staying
east of the mountain, until at the end it turns left and zig-zags
up the east ridge of the peak. The other trail heads straight up
the south ridge. Comments:
I use this trail as an exercise trail, running both trails as a
loop. It is hard work as the trail climbs very steeply up
the east ridge. Similarly, the south ridge is a continuous
uphill. I run the route from our home at University Avenue, this
adds an extra hill crossing past the nice rock spires called
Red Rock both going out and on the return back.
