How to get there:
First, drive to the small town named Dallas, located
south of the mountain. Next, go to location
N36.83348, W2.8663, Calle Real de Celin. This is the beginning
of the mountain road.
Next, drive up this road, the quality was pretty good in 2024, a normal
car can do it. There is one short section with hairpin turns, slightly
steeper, but the road is good. Google may try to divert you onto some
horrible short-cuts, ignore this! The road gets rougher (slightly) about
500 meter before it ends.
One may decide to park and just walk this,
a good spot for parking is
at location N36.89515, W002.81706, elevation about
2020 meter.
Route::
Continue along the road until it ends. From here, follow various sections of
paths between the (low) vegetation. There is no unique trail, but many smaller
local variations all heading in the same general direction.
You will
soon arrive on top. There are some heaps of rocks marking the summit. Comments:
I drove from our "base camp" in Granada and started walking at
1130. The hike was slightly less than 30 minutes. The weather was
partly fog, partly some breaks in the low clouds around the local
hills up here. I stayed a short time, then returned in about the
same amount of time. Overall, a pretty long drive followed by a short hike.
