How to get there: The mountain is located in the Guadaloupe Mountains National Park, a short drive south-west of Carlsbad along highway 180 to El Paso.
Route description: There is a clear and easy trail leading from the parking area to the summit. We made it as a family climb with two kids aged 4 and 11, daddy carried the 4 year old part of the way.
Comments: The view is actually quite nice, since most of Texas is very flat and stretches to the horizon.
