How to get there:
Start out from Egirdir and drive along the lake in the direction signed for Konya. As you get to the corner of the lake, after a few gas-stations, two roads exit right, the second exit is signed for Aksu. Take this exit and measure from here (km 0.0). Drive 13.7 kilometer in the direction of Aksu, watch carefully, you should cross a small bridge, then immediately, turn right onto a good dirt road. At kilometer 15.2 keep right, there are several dirt roads in this area, try to stay at the main road. At 15.3 go straight, you are now going sort of parallel with the hill side on your right. At 15.7 turn left onto a dirt road that looks less good. I drove to kilometer 16.4, one may of course park a little sooner. There is not much to be gained. My trailhead was at N37.76584, E030.97164, elevation about 1330 meter.
Route description:
Walk directly up the steep hillside under pine trees with loose, but ok footing. You will gradually get above the pine trees and eventually top out on more flat terrain at about 1800 meter of elevation. The best route onwards is to take a bearing on the summit coordinates, then hike in that direction, but contour around (on the left side) of all deep depressions (holes) along your way. The summit is marked with a proper cylinder made of concrete.
Comments:
This was a bonus peak on my last day in Egirdir, before we move on to Cappadocia. I started at 1020, and gained the ridge around 1120. I proceeded to hike more or less along the edge of the hill, since my summit coordinates was quite a bit in error. Making a big arc, I finally arrived at the summit at 1215. Nice view to all three ultra peaks! I started back at 1225 and returned to my car at 1345 after a nice and slightly more direct route back.
Here is a quick summary of peaks climbed in our trip to Turkey.
