How to get there:
The mountain is located north-northwest of Kalifbjerg. Route description:
Our two person team skied from Base Camp down on the west side
of Kalifbjerg. Just as one turns the last part of Kalifbjerg in
order to proceed north to the south slope of Basel Fjeld, there is
an area with crevasses that were about to turn nasty (we ran
into them again when moving Base Camp a few days later, into
July/August, they may pose a serious problem for skiing).
The slope of Basel Fjeld was hiked on foot in deep snow, it had been
considerably more efficient to ski all the way up to the
summit, but my partner was not used to ski (steeper) slopes.
On the return trip,
we skied east towards Kerberus, passing it on the south side, then
climbed the pass (a bit steeper) that is east of
Tangent Fjeld. From here there is a nice, gentle slope almost all
the way back to Base Camp. Comments:
This turned into a rather long day, we were back after midnight.
However, with stronger and more equal skiing skills, this is
a very fine ski tour. A lot of credit is due to my partner for
completing a trip that by any reasonable measure tested his
skiing beyond limits.

Baselfjeld. We climbed
the west (left) glacier. It can be skied all the way, however,
due to unequal skiing skills it was climbed on foot.
