Route::
A quick summary of the peaks climbed in Italy 2022.
Continue the road a short distance west, then a clearly marked trail forks uphill
to your right hand side. Follow this trail (marked with paint all the way)
to the summit.
The summit is marked with a pile of rocks
and a sign with the name and elevation.
Comments:
I left the trailhead around 1035, easy trail. However, when it started
a slight descent, I decided to look at my GPS. It showed that Rob W. had
taken a right in a previous trail fork. I returned, then followed
this track. That turned out to be a mistake. Rob's route did not have any trail,
quite a lot of rocks, no serious issues. I arrived on top approximately one hour
after departure and enjoyed the views for
about 15 minutes. Two young guys from
France arrived and I helped taking a summit picture. On descent, I followed the
trail, well marked all the way. Back down after slightly less than an hour.
I drove back via the village of Petralia Sottana. Nice, old and original. I almost got
stuck in a narrow street, squeezed through with only centimeter margins. Back at the
hotel around 1400.
