How to get there:
Drive north on E-39 from Bergen to Knarvik. Make a left in the
first traffic circle. Follow the road as it descends, then bends right
and continues uphill. Just as you reach a flat section, note a sign pointing right that
says Åse 1.3. On your left there is a gate (closed or open). Park next to the road
just beyond the gate. This location is N60.58234, E005.26955, elevation about 110 meter.
Route description:
Pass through a "door" in the gate and hike along the dirt road that starts here.
Just as this road completes a gentle uphill, do look carefully on your right
to spot a trail sign that shows
where the trail to Vassberget starts. This location is
N60.58651, E005.26020, elevation about 130 meter. Take this trail and follow it
to the summit. Comments:
I started around 1240. Somehow, I missed the sign and walked quite a bit
too fsr along the road. I then crossed right and struggled in bad terrain before
hitting the trail just before the summit.
I arrived at 1320.
The view was very nice.
I returned along the trail and was back at my car by 1355.
The next peak is Elsåsfjellet.
