How to get there:
From Bergen, drive south tovards Stavanger, then take the ferry to Våge. This ferry is about 35-40 minutes.
From Våge, drive south. Turn right following signs for Reksteren, the road is pretty long and narrow,
after crossing the narrow bridge, continue north, you will soon arrive at a very sharp right bend on the main road.
Continue about 800 more meter, the trailhead is on your left hand side immediately before the lake
Frøkjedalsvatnet. There is parking for 1-2 cars.
This location is N60.01728, E005.37656, elevation near 45 meter.
Route description:
Follow the trail until you reach a small area suitable for picnics/camping. Leave the trail
here and head uphill while traversing right. The terrain is a bit treacherous, the moss covers
holes between the rocks, be careful. Continue uphill, you may locate some animal paths. The terrain
is easier if you move more right, then go left when quite a bit higher.
The summit has a cairn nearby, but the vegetation blocks most of the view.
Comments:
I arrived at the trailhead
shortly before noon and climbed pretty directly towards the summit.
This was not ideal, since I ended up on the wrong side of a very
distinct ravine, steepish down-climb!
Arriving at the summit
in a bit less than one hour, I looked around for
about 5 minutes, then descended what turned out to be a better way.
Back at my car before 1400, then a leisurely drive back to the ferry
at Våge leaving at 1445.
