How to get there:
Drive north on Hwy. E-39. After Eikanger (north of Knarvik), look for a sign (exit right) for Hindnes, take this exit and drive 1.3 kilometer. At this road fork, go right follow sign to Bjørgo 3 km. After about 2.7 kilometer, you are just below the upper farm, there is a small parking area on your right. Park here, location N60.64165 E005.42711, elevation about 212 meter.
Route description:
Follow a farmers tractor track, then go right through a gate, there are signs saying "Såto". Continue uphill in open terrain, do not get into the forest on your left. The trail will gain the plateau, then run across a meadow before a final ascent to the highest point.
Comments:
This was my last hill today. I started at 1455 and were on top at 1515. A pretty good group had similar plans. I talked to a nice woman from Bergen and Hordaland Turlag at the summit. The summit had information about 10 recommended tops to visit in the local area. Leaving around 1525, I quickly descended and was back down by 1540.
I had now essentially completed my visits to all hills with at least 100 meter of prominence in the larger Bergen area. That is, within an area where access is not limieted by any large mountains. I may not continue with the rest of Lindås, since the remaining summits are quite far from Bergen.
