How to get there:
This mountain is on the island Tysnes. Easy to reach by ferry from Halhjem, south of
Bergen. The ferry should go to Våge.
Drive south about 7.7 kilometer to reach S{\o}reid. Fork right and drive on the west
side of S{\o}reidsv{\aa}gen. Fork right (uphill) at location 59.96817, 5.45607.
Drive to location N59.970518, E005.466153, park out of the road here.
Route:
Head uphill more or less directly from the parking. There are some fences,
but they are easy to cross. Locate a small crossing in a fence built by rocks higher up.
On the upside of this you cross a small fence, then head uphill. The trail becomes
more obvious as you descend. Near the end, it is marked by some red markers.
The summit has a very impressive cairn.
Comments:
I started at 1405. I walked passing the last house before
starting an ascent, I had planned to just get onto the broad ridge,
then follow it to the summit.
This turned out to be less than ideal. The terrain did not help, partly
steep and definitely a lot of bush.
I arrived at the cairn after 40
minutes.
I spent 5 minutes there, then decided to floow the red markers on my
return. This worked well in the beginning, but I lost the marked
trail and continued downhill following various tracks. The descent was
still twice as fast as my ascent, clearly showing that this is route
was much better.
