How to get there:
This is the local city-mountain of Bodø. Locate Rønvik at the north end of town. Drive there and follow the signed road for Rønvikfjellet to its end. There is a large parking area there. This is the trailhead, location N67.30179, E014.44510, elevation about 108 meter.
Route description:
The route heads north on a small road. There are signs for Keiservarden. After about 900 meter, fork right down to lake Svartvatnet, turn left again and follow a big path towards Keiservarden. There are several nicely made steps as the trail climbs to the summit.
Comments:
I had attended the national mountaineering meeting in Saltstraumen near Bodø. The weather was bad and my flight was early. I even lost one hour in the morning as I failed to notice that we changed to daylight savings time this morning.
I left my car at 1030, made the summit at 1100. It was very windy at the summit, gusts with storm power. I left at 1115 and was back down by 1145.
