Location: North 60.28024, East 007.24529 (GPS at the summit)
Hardangervidda, Norway
Difficulty: (YDS) class 2

Information:
How to get there:
A possible strating point is Hjølmo. This road (closed in winter)
forks from Hwy. 7 in Øvre Eidfjord. I parked at location
N60.37336, E007.17045, elevation about 850 meter.
Route description:
Follow the trail towards Vivelid. Just as this trail
crosses a flat area with
a hillside up on your left, there is a trail fork with an alternative route
to Hadlaskard forking left, crossing the mountain Kvasshovden (Storasåta).
Just as this trail descends back down near the 1080 elevation, look for a smaller
(unsigned) trail that forks left. Follow this along the river Fljoto to
Steinsstølen. Continue up the broad valley, then turn south on the east
side of Haraldshaugane. head up the valley Trolldølebotnane and finally
west up Shitbotnen. Finally across easy terrain southwest to the summit.
Comments:
This trip was planned as a 3 day ski trip to visit peaks far west on
Hardangervidda. However lack of snow
and a missing bridge (crossing the river Veig),
altered my plans and I ended up skiing this
mountain on my return from the Hadlaskard hut.
