How to get there:
This mountain is on Hardangervidda, a large mountain
platau in southern Norway.
Route description:
Our route (on New Years Eve) started from the mountain hut Rauhellern,
just north of Langesjøen (1206 m). The mountain is just on the southern
side of this lake on a fairly direct line to the mountain hut Lågaros.
Comments:
We had been stuck in a hurricane near
the DNT hut Rauhellern for more than 24 hours.
Finally, only hours before the new year we
made a determined attempt to reach the self service
DNT hut of Lågoros. The route brought us across
(the very flat) mountain Store Skrekken. The name
carried a special significance to us this scary
night as it means `great horror'.
