This is a demo of the Quake-style game engine. I use Quake 2 levels
and models to test the program.
The work on the engine has stopped. There will be no more updates.
Some of the engine features:
The latest version of Poly Engine imports data directly from Quake2 .pak file. Note that you need to have DirectX installed to run Win version. OpenGL version has been developed on nVidia Riva 128 card with beta OGL drivers. It also has been checked with MesaGL on 3DFX Voodoo1. I have no idea if the engine will run on other hardware.
That's it. There'll be no more versions or releases of Poly Engine. It's been fun working on 3d gaming technologies. Bye.

DirectX/OpenGL demo (560K) - Win95 demo (requires DirectX and OpenGL)
Latest binaries (85K) - 05 Aug 98. If you have a previous 0.79 version just unzip this file on top of it. This patch fixes a crashing problem with rain effects and adds support for GL_EXT_point_parameters.
