PhD position in Algorithms at the University of Bergen, Norway


We are looking for an excellent PhD candidate with a background in Algorithms to fill a 3 year PhD position. The position is available at the Algorithms group at the University of Bergen. The deadline for applications is September 20, 2009.

The position is financed by the Research Council of Norway (NFR) via project `PARALGO: Parameterized Graph Algorithms'. Salary will be in accordance with level 45 of Norwegian government salary scale; currently NOK 355 600 gross p.a. (1 EURO is about 9 NOK). There are no teaching duties. Knowledge of the Norwegian language is not necessary.

The main goal of the project is the study of parameterized graph algorithms, (for an overview article look here).
