in the 1. house
The person approaches all aspects of life directly and energetically. They love all new projects, and are fiercely competitive. The brow or head may have prominent features, especially if Mars is conjunct the Ascendant. They are headstrong, willfull, and with a me-first attitude. They will seem very masculine and strong, and are likely to be built for speed rather than endurance. The surroundings are likely to quickly see what sort of activities they engage in, and their energy and how they use it (the sign position) is very apparent. The person may have difficulty completing their endeavours, unless Mars is in a very stable sign (such as Taurus), but they always start off well.

in the 2. house
The person needs activity, something to do, to feel secure, and a whirlwind of stimulation, energy and force to feel enriched and safe. She places great value on the excercising of her will, and loves to take charge. It makes her feel safer and more grounded in reality to know that things are being done (type of activity determined by Mars' sign, and the placement of the sign ruler), and she prefers to be the one doing. She may earn money on sports or reckless gambling (espescially if an aspect to Jupiter is involved), but also tend to spend a fair amount on her hobbies and activities. Even with Mars in an Earth sign, she is unlikely to be thrifty.

in the 3. house
The person is likely to actively assert his will over his siblings and peers, and may have been considered bossy or quarrelsome in childhood. He pursues knowledge energetically, and rushes into any learning experience. His mind functions rapidly, but he is a competitive speaker, and prefers debate to agreement. He probably had strong feelings about competitive subjects like sports, and loved winning. More quiet, aesthetic subjects were not likely his forte, without some aspect to the fifth house, or Aries on the fifth cusp.
