How to get there:
A big, nice paved road with two lanes and a yellow
dividing stripe in the middle, runs all the way
up to summit parking. Route description:
From the summit parking, walks the steps or the slightly longer paved
walk-way to the summit where there is a small house.
Comments:
We left Kihei early afternoon and had a nice drive up to the summit.
It was slightly cooler temperatures as expected. We had a good view
across to Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.
Also, the crater looks quite nice
Some nearby slightly lower tops are crowded with antennas.
from up here. We left after about 30 minutes and drove back to Kihei.
