How to get there:
Grindelwald (a small tourist/mountaineering village reached
from Interlaken) is a good starting point. Route description:
A nice round trip hike (which we did) starts from First
(a gondola stop served from Grindelwald) and proceeds in the
direction of Bachsee, turns around on the north side of
the mountain ridge, passes the partially snow covered Hagelsee
to gain the saddle Wart between Schwarzhorn and Wildgarst. From
here an easy trail leads to the summit. The return hike through
the little pass called Grosse Chrinne can be recommended. This
is the saddle from where the klattersteig route (west ridge)
of Schwarzhorn starts (see decription of Schwarzhorn). Comments:
A nice hike, the only place where care is needed is the first part
of the descent from Grosse Chrinne, if this return is taken.
