Location: North 59.87082, East 007.13274 (GPS at the summit).
Difficulty: YDS class 2.
Climbed October 29. 2021.
How to get there:
The best access is from Hwy. E-134 across Haukelifjell.
From the DNT hut Haukeliseter, drive about 6 kilometer west and
find parking where you have direct access to the mountains on your
right hand (north) side. A good location is
N59.84950, E007.12597, elevation about 980 meter.
Head directly north up the fairly steep slope that
separates Store Nup (left) from the subsidiary summit
1599 m, on the right. When you gain the saddle, turn left and
proceed across fairly easy terrain to the summit. Comments:
I did this climb with Arild and Lars. They shared a ride
with me to a mountaineering meeting at Haukeliseter.
We left Bergen early in order to have time for a good hike
before dinner. We left the car
around 1220 and arrived at the summit after 1.5 hours. Unfortunately,
a local cloud had settled on the top when we were there.
The return required 1:20.
Thanks to Lars and Arild for good company.
