Information:

How to get there:
This mountain is located at the upper end of the Omvikdalen valley. This is south of Rosendal in Hardanger. Drive south from Dimmelsvik, about 3.5 kilometer, go left and take a short rough farmers road 250 meter, there is parking here were a farmers road starts uphill. This location is N59.91927, E006.00906, elevation near 100 meter.
Route:
Follow the farm mountain road uphill, keep right at the fork at about 370 meter of elevation in order to access lake Aterstadvatnet, elevation 397 meter. A T-marked trail crosses the river very near its outlet from the lake. There are good stepping stones here, normally one would get across without getting wet. This trail will lead to the summit cairn. First, uphill, then traversing left to gain a local col, finally along the top ridge to the summit. The view north improves a bit if you walk a few meter from the cairn.
Comments:
I did this hike with my friend Harald. Our friend Kjell also came along, but he turned around when reaching the lake. We had climbed Skorpo together earlier in the day.
We left around 1300 and arrived at the summit by 1415. A very good day with nice views all around. The river was going strongly carrying snow melt water. We got slightly wet when crossing since the water level was higher than the stepping stones. After about 15 minutes on top we returned to my car by 1530. Plenty time for the 1605 ferry to Gjermundshamn.
Back home at 1830. Many thanks to Kjell for organizing this trip. Takk for turen also to Harald.
