Information:

How to get there:
From Trondheim, drive south to Klæbu, the former center of the municipality of Klæbu, now (2020) merged with Trondheim. Drive south from Klæbu and locate a smaller road forking left, that connects directly to the small place called Korsmo. Korsmo is located near the west end of the large lake Selbusjøen. Shortly before the intersection, you may park on the right hand side of the road at location N63.26753, E010.52174, elevation near 190 meter.
Route description:
From the parking, walk past the building and locate the beginning of a forest road, starting with a bridge across the creek. Follow this forest road, first on a long ascending traverse right (when facing uphill), then a more level section going left. At the end, the road again turns right and climbs to location N63.26766, E010.50801, elevation near 340 meter.
A short, but steeper section of the hillside is immediately above. Proceed directly uphill from the end of the road. There is a clearing in the forest tending slightly left. You will gain a small ridge that runs across your direction of travel. Descend slightly left in order to avoid some smaller, local cliffs. The summit is now straight ahead and the final ascent is easy.
Note:
This summit is slightly higher than Ståggååsen to the north. This was discovered when making preparations for the trip. Previously, Ståggååsen was considered the highest and therefore assigned the prominence.
Comments:
I did this trip with my friend Jostein. We started breaking trail at 1045. However, almoat immediately I had problems with the binding on one of my skis (Jostein had a spare pair of skis that I used.). The ski kept coming off. I needed to return to my car and warm the ski inside the car.
Thus, we had a major delay going up the forest road. We arrived at the end of this road at 1155, then at the summit by 1220. The summit area is pretty smooth and flat. After about 10 minutes, we returned back down along our route of ascent, arriving at the car around 1345.
Many thanks to Jostein for good company on a rainy day with pretty miserable conditions.
