Information:

How to get there:
From Ålesund, drive Hwy. E-136 east to E-39 and continue east until you exit north on Hwy. 661. Leave Hwy. 661 in Eidsvik and go left (west) on Hwy. 659. After about 4.4 kilometer, the road forks, leave Hwy. 659 (by taking the left fork) and continue along Hwy. 146. Continue about 13.5 kilometer, the road will turn more north as you approach the small place Søvik. Take the first road that goes right in Søvik and locate the forest road that serves the antenna installations on the very top of Gamlemsveten. There is a parking area just before this road starts climbing more steeply. In order for this to be a hike, park here, location N62:32.596 E006:18.247, elevation 80 meter.
Route description:
Follow the road uphill to the very top. The cairn is to the left of the big summit building. There is a tall telecommunication antenna and a somewhat smaller radar installed on this summit.

Comments:
After the successful ski-trip to Snøhornet yesterday, and with weather that did not promise anything but rain and snow, Arnt suggested that we hike Gamlemsveten. He had notcied that it looked "kind of lonely" on my map of unclimbed peaks. "One day you need to go there" he said, and continued: "it may as well be this Sunday."
This route requires quite some travel from Arnt's house, therefore double credit is due, Arnt had already been to this summit several times while he still lived a lot closer. I had always thought that this would be a summit to do when the weather was bad and I at the same time would have no company.
Anyway, we started hiking at 1200, made the summit shortly before 1330 and were back by the car around 1440. There was no view near the top, but we had some view across to other fogged in summits on our way.
