How to get there:
Drive from Bergen towards Voss and take the exit across the big bridge to Osterøy.
Measure from the toll crossing at the end of the bridge. Drive 10.3 kilometer towards Valestrand
and make a left in the traffic circle. At kilometer 13.3, turn right towards Røskelandsdalen, then
at kilometer 16.0, make a right turn. At kilometer 16.4, you should notice a building on your right
with a sign saying Byggmesterene Mosevoll. Immediately after this building, turn right and head uphill.
Follow this road and notice where you pass between two buildings just before making a sharp right tun.
Continue uphill, in the next sharp left turn there is a road fork. Continue straight (ie. take the right
fork). Drive about 50 meter to the beginning of a right curve. There is a tractor road going straight
ahead. Park here, do not block the road that serves a house (the one turning right.) This location is
N60.53065, E005.42622, elevation about 250 meter.
Route description:
Continue up the tractor track and locate a small trail that continues uphill. This trail runs along the
left side of the hill, eventually staying on a local ridge leading all the way to the summit.
From the summit, you may follow a trail having red and white markers, to the summit of the almost
equally high Horsåsfjellet. This marked trail will continue north and eventually descend a distinct
ravine, most likely hitting the road a bit below the documented trailhead. You may avoid this detour by
observing the (very first) house sitting on a ridge up on your right. Hike across, pass this house just on
its uphill side and descend to the small road serving this house. The trailhead is then a few meter further
down this road.
Comments:
I had climbed Iseggene and decided to also visit this small hill before returning to Bergen.
I left at 1345 and arrived at the summit 1410.
After 5 minutes, I headed across to the almost equally
high Horsåsfjellet, (location:N60.52615, E005.43310) arriving there at 1425.
I was back at my car by 1450.
