Information:

How to get there:
From Bergen, drive to Tørvikbygd and take the ferry across to Jondal. This ferry leaves 10 minutes before every hour (2024). In Jondal, drive directly into the valley and follow the main road to location N60.27102, E006.38480. Go right here and park on a good parking area next to the local "ski-house". The elevation here is about 485 meter.
Route description:
Follow the cross country ski track to the ridge that comes down from Storafjellet. Roughly at location N60.27006, E006.37756, turn left. You should climb on quite reasonable slopes staying left (when looking uphill) of the main ridge crest.
Higher up, one can continue the ascent along the ridge, when getting close to a bigger rock structure, bypass this on your left hand side. The final stretch is a more gentle slope directly to a very nice cairn on the summit.
Comments:
I did this ascent as a trip guide for the Bergen Mountaineering club. I had assistance from co-trip leaders Lars Robert and Arild. We had 16 participants, 9 girls and 7 boys. We started around 1030 and reached the summit cairn shortly after 1300. The weather was reasonable, light snow and reasonable visibility. The skiing back down was fun and went fairly fast despite a pretty big difference in skiing skills among the participants.
