Information:

How to get there:
This mountain is located on the island Andøyra. You can get there by ferry from Harstad to the island Rolla, then by sub-sea tunnel to Andøyra. You can also drive to Andøyra from the north, connecting by a nice bridge. Once on Andøyra, drive all the way (clockwise) around the island to the place called Årbostad. Just before arriving at Årbostad, you will see a picnic table on your left and a farm (tractor) road going up right. Park here, this is the trailhead, location N68.92369, E017.32072, elevation 8 meter.
Route description:
Follow the forest road uphill, do not branch left (uphill). The road ascends gently (right), then curves left and ends where a trail continues at location N68.91991, E017.31154, elevation 195 meter. The trail continues uphill to reach more level terrain near the wide saddle. There is a local hut located here.
The trail continues, climbing only gradually while getting closer to the south-west ridge. The final ascent follows this ridge. There is a nice cairn with a summit register, located at the very edge of the cliff.
Comments:
I left my hotel, Fjellkysten, after breakfast. However, the drive to this trailhed is rather long since you need to circle the island almost completely in order to reach the trailhead.
Start at 0900. A nice trail that got me up to the broad saddle and the local hut. The climb from this area also went well, but the higher part of the peak had received a thin layer of new snow. This area has sections with rocks and the snow caused everything to be slippery. I arrived at the summit at 1115, the weather was reasonable. My first view was back down to the bridge, very close so you really travel around this island to make this trip. The cairn was located right next to the steep cliffs on the north side.
After 15 minutes, I started back down. An easy walk that got me back down at 1320.
