Purpose: The IDM list is for the discussion of the form of electronic music that has been coined "Intelligent Dance Music" by a British music magazine and "Electronic Listening Music" by a label promoting the new genre. Artists in this vein include Richard D. James (Aphex Twin/Polygon Window), Black Dog Productions, B12, C.J. Bolland, Plastikman, Future Sound of London/Amorphous Androgynous. Discussion and reviews on the list also cover other ambient and trance music, to some extent.
