I had the
same problem, but am unsure as how I fixed it. It also worked
for a while before these problems cropped up.
Reinstalling didnt work.
I both re-downloaded the installer, and then installed it
from root ( C: ). The file size was the same on both dl'ed
files, so I am assuming it has something to do with from where
you install it. Maybe the installer freaks on directories with
spaces.
To sum up, try moving the installer exe to root and
installing.

i have the
SOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got rid of the material naviggator bug
of my gmax!!!!
How did i do it u ask????? well u go into broswer and then
into the folder where they are kept, gmax/matlibs , then right
click, go down to properties and look under "type" at the top,
ok that is the program that is stuffing up ur material
navigator!!... i think.... ok from here on u have differnt
choices depending on what u want to do.....
1. IF u dont want that program any more the just un-install
it.
2.(this is what i did) If u want to keep the program but
want the material nav to work as well. copy ur program folder
and EVERYTHING in it then paste some where else, then
uninsatll the orignal program and PRESTO!! the mat. nav. works
and u still have ur program... u just have to go into the
folder to start it..... its quite risky but its what i wanteed
to do.
3....... there has to be an easy way to do this.
WARNING!!!! this is how I!! fixed it, and im NOT a
profesional!! So do not blame me if this stuffs up ur
computer!! Do this at your own risk!!!!
