The Founding of the Alvarium Covenant

As previously mentioned, the covenant was founded by Daramus ab Montem, Marcus de Fezzini and Adrian.

These three young magi were all accepted into the Order of Hermes together, when their masters brought them to the Fudarus covenant, to be sworn in by the Quaesitor. They were then offered a deal by the covenant's treasurer - They would venture force to Bretagne, a land rich in magical resources, and build their covenant there. The area has been uninhabited by Magi for centuries, ever since the Diedne were wiped out in the Schism War. Fudarus would supply the newly initiated Magi with money to pay for the building of the covenant, and in return the young Magi will support Fudarus in future Tribunals.

The site of their choosing - the hill of Bibracta Parva, three days ride from Brest, capital of Bretagne.

The hill was the site of the travellers' first night's stop, and they decided to settle the spot when it became evident that the place is highly magic-intensive. The area's magical aura is +6.

Workers were hired in the nearby town of Vennes, using the gold given by Fudarus. In a matter of weeks, a stone building large enough to house 4 magi and their labs was erected. The Magi, meanwhile, made arrangements with the local Duke. The lands around Bibracta Parva were chartered, including the ancient unused silver mine, and several peasant families moved in.

Soon after the building of the central house a new Magus arrived, seeking acceptance into the covenant. He had missed the initiation ceremony at Fudarus, and thus had to track us down. He was Cristoph Hoek ex Bjornaer, whose Heart-Beast is a fly.
