Research interestsBioinformatics with emphasis on biological sequence analysis, in particular EST clustering and mapping, alternative splicing (SpliceNest), repeats and word statistics.TeachingIn Bergen I have taught various courses in bioinformatics, as well courses in introductory programming (Java) and databases. I have also taught calculus at NTNU, Trondheim.Other activitiesI am a board member and local organiser of the Norwegian Informatics Conference NIK 2005. I also served in the organising comittees of the conference ALGO 2004 in Bergen and the workshop MABS 96 (Mathematical Analysis of Biological Sequences) in Trondheim.Journal publications
