Mathematical methods for repeated patterns in biological sequences. Dr.ing. thesis 1998:13, NTNU. Supervisors: Kristian Seip and Finn Drabløs.

Experience

Research interests

Bioinformatics with emphasis on biological sequence analysis, in particular EST clustering and mapping, alternative splicing (SpliceNest), repeats and word statistics.

Teaching

In Bergen I have taught various courses in bioinformatics, as well courses in introductory programming (Java) and databases. I have also taught calculus at NTNU, Trondheim.

Other activities

I am a board member and local organiser of the Norwegian Informatics Conference NIK 2005. I also served in the organising comittees of the conference ALGO 2004 in Bergen and the workshop MABS 96 (Mathematical Analysis of Biological Sequences) in Trondheim.
