Bioinformatics Seminar Series 1998
This seminar series will cover several aspects of molecular biology databases, including

a survey of different kinds of molecular
biology data and databases

structure and organisation of flat file databases
-
accessing flat file databases with SRS:
structure, queries
-
data modelling and database design
-
relational and object oriented databases: structure, queries
-
using Java and Corba to distribute databases across Internet
-
how the databanks are 'filled': data submission, derived data
There will be one seminar per week (except for winter holiday and Easter)
until the middle of May.
Place: Room 2143 in the "data block" of HiB.
Time: Mondays 1015-1200, first time February 2nd.
