Katharine Kerr

Our foreign guest of Honour is the American writer Katharine Kerr, or Kit, as she usually introduces herself as. An SF- and Fantasy fan for many years, as well as, until recently, a very active player of role-playing games since 1979, she firmly belongs in the world of fandom, almost as much as in the world of professional writers.

Fans all over the world have grown to love her work. And since she is a frequent attender of American conventions, more and more people have come to like her as a genuinely nice person. Which is why, when the rumours started circulating that one of her books, Daggerspell, was being translated into Norwegian, we immediately resolved to try to get her to be Guest of Honour at Quartercon. Our thanks to her Norwegian publisher, Tiden Norsk Forlag A/S for helping us out with that.

There are those that would claim that the above isn't a very extensive introduction to Katharine Kerr. And they'd be right. But then again, there is more information available on her person, her works, in particular the Deverry series. In fact, Kit maintains her very own homepage!
