The week from 13. - 20. march were set in the sign of fencing. Rygge fekteklubb was the organisator of the NC.
On sunday there was Rygge younger youth's cup. A competition for the youngest fencers in Norway. This cup was a result of the debate in Norwegian Fencing Assosiation (NF) with stated that competitions for younger fencers should be organised to let the younger fencer try out the "feel" of competition. And perhaps stop the migration to other sports as they grow older. The competition was a success, where nobody lost and nobody won, and all got their prize.
On wedensday and thursday The Nordic Military Championships were on the agenda. Here all military fencingclubs from the Nordic contries meet, in a club vs. club competition. Finland won, 4-5 over Norway.
The ladies individual was won by Margrethe Moerch. She beat Nina Steenlad by 15-14 in a thrilling match.
The men's finals was dominated by Bergen Fencingclub (BF) who took 3 out of the top four places. In the first rounds, Claus S. Moerch lost his matches and where out. In the final Endre Kolbjoernsen meet Paal Skogen. Again a thrilling match. The two fencers battled evenly but at 14-14 Paal von the last point and with that, the NC and H.M.K trofee.
In the team competition (Womens) BF beat Oslo fencing club with 5-1. My student team, 'Bergen Studentenes Idrettslag BSI', took third place.
The team with Rynning/Moerch jr./Piasecki (BF) lost the mens team competition against Rygge fc, with Pedersen/Stavlund/Johnsen/Halvorsen.
