The 1996 expedition

SUMMARY
We travelled from Longyearbyen (Spitsbergen, Svalbard) with the seal hunting vessel Polarstar of Ålesund. Our first place of visit was the Sabine Island.
We sailed south along the coast and fjords and left Greenland after visiting the area where Helge Ingstad stayed while serving as an official Norwegian representative, Antartichavn.
During this trip, we hiked from the innermost part of Franz Josef fjord with the objective of climbing the highest peak in North-East Greenland, Peterman (see below for a more extensive report).
