How to get there:
This report covers the ascent from the west. It is also possible (indeed it looked like the most popular choice) to climb this peak from its east side.
From Col de Pimorent, descend south-east and exit in the village Porte Puymorens. Drive the road into the valley (heading east). There is a toll collection point, 5 Euro for all day parking. There are several parking areas, proceed to the last one having a one-way (counter-clockwise) turning around road (with parking on the sides). This location is N42.51177, E1.88032, elevation near 1720 meter.
Route description:
The first part of this climb is to get near the lake Etang de Lonoux, at near 2200 meter of elevation. There are two trails, the east or the west side of the valley. The lake itself is not very interesting, as it has been dammed and thus offers a shoreline with clear signs of the fluctuating water level.
Comments:
I started hiking at 0930 and decided to follow the trail that ascends on the east side of the valley.
