How to get there:
Assekrem is a tourist location in Sahara on the way to Tahat from
Talmanrasset. The place has basic stone cabins, it seems quite popular with
various tour agencies.
Route description:
The route is a well established trail that starts behind the building located to the
right of the toilet-house when viewing Assekrem. This building is shown on the
picture above. The trail serves the summit plateau,
where there are a couple of branches. Proceed stright across towards a small, fenced in
building. The highest point is outside this fence, there are no specific markers.
Comments:
I did this short climb in the morning, just before travelling onwards to
Tamanrasset. It took about 10 minutes to reach the summit plateau, then another
4-5 minutes to walk across to the highest point.
