How to get there:
This mountain is on the island Tysnes. Easy to reach by ferry from Halhjem, south of
Bergen. The ferry should go to Våge.
Drive south, then fork left to Uggedalsdalen. Shortly after Singelstadvatnet, find parking
on your right hand side near location N59.977352, E005.583116, elevation about 150 meter.
Route:
There are several routes, however, a direct approach may be about as easy as trying to
follow any trails. Head uphill along some forest tracks, the area was generally pretty
messy after logging in 2023. Ascend steeply to your right up to and through the forest that
remains higher up. Soon, the terrain is more gentle and quite open, easy hiking as you head
south-west to higher ground that terminates in the summit.
Comments:
I had already been on 3 summits and wanted to catch the 1610 ferry from Våge. There was
time for a final ascent, but it should be fairly short. I left my car at 1450 and decided to
head directly uphill. Summit at 1515. A short break, then directly back down to the car slightly
after 1530. Thus, plenty of time to drive bacj to Våge before 1600, leaving a few minutes
before the ferry departure.
