How to get there:
This report describes access from the small village of Auribeau.
Take Hwy. D-48 forking south from D-900. I parked in a parking area just above
the old village, location near N43.83876, E005.47665.
Route:
Descend back into the old part of the village with narrow streets, keep right and
descend along a good path that gets you down to the bottom of the small valley.
Follow this trail as it gently runs in this small valley, uphill direction.
Ignore the first two possible left forks, then go left at what still is a very
clear trail. It will continue uphill, then meet another trail coming from your right.
Continue uphill (left), the trail will change into a forest road. Higher up, you cross
another dirt road. Continue uphill across some small local hill, you will than see the
antenna tower on the summit pretty
close ahead. The antenna is fenced in, however highest
ground is certainly close enough just outside near a corner.
One may also easily walk around
the fenced in area.
Comments/Trip Report:
I had been visiting two summits, both essentialaly drive-ups, now heading back towards
Gordes, it seemed possible to also vixit this peak. I actually believed that it would
be a very short hike. Not really, I left at 1400 and it took almost 1:30 before I arrived
at the summit. More than 700 meter gain. I rested about 10 minutes, then hiked back down in
one hour.
